Msgr. Buckley 4th Degree Assembly 627

New Hampshire's Capital Sir Knights

A "CALL TO ACTION"

My Fellow Sir Knights and Brothers All,

At times you will be notified that there is important information on our Monsignor Buckley Assembly web site that needs to viewed immediately and or that needs to have immediate action. Please stay tuned into this site and pay close attention to these "calls to action". Your support and dedication to the principles of the Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree Orders principle of Patriotism, is one of the reasons why we remain so successful in the State of New Hampshire.

Fraternally yours,

SK, Rudy Vien, FN

N.H. State Officers and All Brother Knights,

I invite all my fellow Brother Knights to our 3rd annual 9/11 Prayer Service held on Sept. 11, 2010 @ 6:30pm at St. Joseph Church, 208 Pleasant Street (Route27) Epping, N.H.

If you could join us for Regalia, please come for 6:00pm line-up.

There is regular weekly Mass for 4:00pm and the Squires always hold a dinner on the second Sat. for the month.

Come and join us for all,  if you can.

Fraternally,

Care Packages Requested:

If anyone is interested in sending something to troops serving in Iraq here is an address to which stuff can be sent for an entire battalion of Marines.

The request is for “stuff” that is from home [note: non-religious, non-sexy, politically correct is the military rule and packages are (supposedly) inspected]. These guys are based in northern Iraq (at least north of Bagdad), have occasional access to familiar treats like Burger King, but auto magazines, National Review, newspapers, candy for the local kids (the sort of non-melting kind – say boxes of K of C Tootsie Rolls), personal hygiene items, and occasional (can’t have fat Marines now can we?) candy for the Marines themselves would be appreciated.

Again, this is not just for my son, but for his men (ok-boys).

Pledge of Allegiance:

"I pledge allegiance

to the flag of

the United States of America

and to the republic for which it stands:

one nation under God,

indivisible, with liberty

and justice for all."

Patriotism and Fraternalism:

Patriotism and Fraternalism

Patriotism has been one of the four principles of the Knights of Columbus since the Fourth Degree was established in 1900, with a ceremony on George Washington’s birthday, February 22nd.

(Patriotism and Fraternalism, by Christopher Kauffman, is a history of the Fourth Degree published in 2001.) Each of the major jurisdictions of the Order has its own version of the Fourth Degree Ceremony, with each focusing on the distinctive history of Catholicism in that particular country.
