Looking for Donations of Corps Regalia:

for NEW and ACTIVE members who are interested in training for the Color Corps. If you have any items that would be of value or use to your Brother Sir Knights, please contact SK, Norman St.Hilaire, PFN

Father Montesanti , Pastor of Saint John's Church In Concord, has given the Assembly the right to store our 4th Degree Regalia within the Church property. This will be a great change from having stored it at Saint John the Baptist Church In Suncook, NH for many years now.  Saint John's in Concord will be a more central location between the four Council's that are part of the Assembly, and more local to the Faithful Navigator, The Color Corps Commander and Glenn Camley, PFN who will be monitoring the Regalia, formalwear and all other supplies under one roof.

Fellow Sir Knight, Camley has obtained a large collection of formal shoes and other items that were donated to the Monsignor Buckley Assembly #627 by an area Philanthropist.

The first step to the process will be gathering a team of Sir Knights to visit the site, plan for shelving and hang bars and any other needs that may occur to ready the area for better usage.

All donation's should still be made through Past Faithful Navigator, Norman St.Hilaire, who will make sure that the items go to an active Sir Knight.

Keep your eyes open for more news on this subject and watch for areas where you may contribute your labor and or other services.

March Meeting Attendance News:

Thank you to all of those Brother Sir Knights who attended our March business meeting.

With the exception of a few of the Council #112 1st Degree Team, who were on a special trip to another Council Degree, this months attendance reached numerous Sir Knights, to which Faithful Navigator, Keith Thibeault is very pleased that more and more Brother's are taking part.

It can not be said enough how important your support of the Assembly is, by attending the meetings on a monthly basis.

Please make sure you check out the Assemblies schedule for meetings on this web site and plan on helping the growth of our degree.

If you need assistance with transportation to and from the meetings or to any of our gatherings, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Seminarian Support:

Monsignor Buckley Assembly #0627 will be continuing our support of Seminarian, Jeff  Paviglio  for the 2010 - 2011 Faraternal year. Thankyou for your VOTE of support and confidence on this all important matter.

Faithful Navigator, SK, Keith Thibeault, Sr., recently communicated a letter of support to Seminarian Paviglio, for his studies throughout the year. We are looking forward to hearing from Jeff throughout the year and seeing his success with his Seminarian studies. Below is information on Jeff's background and on his religious studies.

Mr. Jeffrey Paveglio

Pre-Theology
St. Mary’s Seminary
Baltimore, MD

Describe your most Amazing encounter with God.
Every time I am in the presence of the Eucharist, especially at Mass and in adoration, however the moment that stands out most for me is the first time I made a good confession after coming back to the church. The feeling of God's grace and the words of absolution were overwhelming.

Why did you choose to go to Seminary?
I chose to come to seminary because it is where God has asked me to come, and I can best discern my vocation here. I am here not to be a priest but to be a seminarian, to pray with and live with other men who feel called as I do. Seminary is just one step in a long discernment process that will, God willing, take me to the priesthood. It is here that I can learn more about my faith, about the sacraments, and continue to grow closer in my relationship to God. Here I feel challenged to truly live my faith. In the end I just want to bring people to Christ.

Name one thing you wish people knew about you.
I love music, including Country music, but not just listening to music, making it. I am also a proud Eagle Scout and a Second Lieutenant in the NH Army National Guard. I am from Bow, NH and my home parish is Immaculate Heart of Mary, from which my strong devotion to The Blessed Mother comes.

Favorite pastime.
I like to rock climb, hike, hunt and do things that are challenging and scary, pretty much anything outdoors. I love volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and being out on the front lines in the battle for the right to life. I like to read, mostly about the Catholic Faith (apologetics, theology, liturgy etc...) and watch movies, however praising God through music gives me the most peace. As many people will tell you I also really like to talk.

What was your biggest obstacle to discerning God’s will?
The biggest obstacle to discernment for me was understanding that God's grace is far greater than my sins. I didn't feel worthy of priesthood. Also selfless service has always been important to me, but my priority was selfless service to others, fitting God in when I could. Once I put God first discernment was easy, and the real problem became how to serve him. Was I called to religious life or was I called to Diocesan Priesthood? I still struggle with this question, and must be called everyday. He doesn't just call once, it must be an ongoing conversion.

For the Good of the Assembly:

This is a picture of an Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny 'plot' of grass in front of his tent. It's heartwarming!

Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt ( U.S. soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil -- to bring them good luck.

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted.

Upon receiving this, say a little prayer for our soldiers that give and give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.

Patriotism and Fraternalism:

Patriotism and Fraternalism

Patriotism has been one of the four principles of the Knights of Columbus since the Fourth Degree was established in 1900, with a ceremony on George Washington’s birthday, February 22nd.

(Patriotism and Fraternalism, by Christopher Kauffman, is a history of the Fourth Degree published in 2001.) Each of the major jurisdictions of the Order has its own version of the Fourth Degree Ceremony, with each focusing on the distinctive history of Catholicism in that particular country.
